About Memberstack

Founded by childhood friends Tyler Bell and Duncan Hamra, Memberstack is an authentication and payments platform that makes it easy for no-code builders to add user accounts and payment functionality to their websites.

The platform primarily serves Webflow users but works with any website that can add a header script. With a focus on simplicity and ease of use, Memberstack has processed over $130 million in payments and serves thousands of customers who want to monetize their web presence without complex coding.

The Challenge

Our single sign-on auth screen was hosted on memberstack.com. We wanted customers to be able to handle authentication directly on their own domains to provide a more seamless experience.

  • Single sign-on pages were hosted on memberstack.com domain
  • Existing solutions like Cloudflare were prohibitively expensive
  • AWS implementation seemed too complex to maintain
  • Needed a solution that wouldn't distract from core product development

The Solution

SaaS Custom Domains provided Memberstack with a streamlined solution that aligned perfectly with their needs:

  • Simple API that made integration straightforward
  • Easy-to-implement management UI for their dashboard
  • Cost-effective pricing that scales with growth
  • Zero maintenance overhead for custom domain infrastructure

Key Results

Scalable Growth

Successfully scaled to support thousands of custom domains without infrastructure headaches

Enhanced UX

Provided seamless white-labeled authentication experience for customers

Development Focus

Engineering team stayed focused on core product features instead of domain infrastructure

Cost Efficiency

Significantly more affordable than alternatives like Cloudflare or building in-house

Final Thoughts

When I found it, I was like, this is just too good to be true. How can something make custom domains this easy? Tried it, had a prototype, worked beautifully, and we've been using it ever since.

Could you tell me about Memberstack and what your platform does?

11:24 AM

We help entrepreneurs launch their own job boards without the tech headaches. Everything's included - paywalls, job alerts, custom domains, Stripe integration - the whole package.

Best part? It's a one-time payment, not another monthly subscription.

11:25 AM

What challenges were you facing with custom domains before using our service?

11:26 AM

Nobody wants to see memberstack.com on their own website when users click on a login link. We knew we needed custom domains but had no idea where to start.

We looked at Cloudflare but that was going to be ridiculously expensive. Then we looked at custom solutions on AWS and I was like, I don't want to touch that with a ten foot pole. It seemed way too complicated.

11:28 AM

How did our solution help address these challenges?

11:29 AM

The clean, well-documented API made integration incredibly straightforward. We were able to add custom domain functionality to Memberstack with minimal code.

You're so simpler and more affordable than hosting it ourselves and dealing with those headaches. Plus, your quick and thorough responses to emails have been crucial for us.
