About Dropboard

Founded by Colin Mathews, previously founder of Mailshake, Dropboard is on a mission to be the friendliest hiring platform available. They offer a streamlined alternative to bloated enterprise HR platforms, making it simple for businesses and recruiters to manage their hiring process, while enabling entrepreneurs to build their own job board businesses.

With a focus on simplicity and ease of use, Dropboard helps companies manage jobs and candidates without the complexity and training requirements of traditional applicant tracking systems. Their platform enables both in-house hiring teams and recruiting agencies to create branded hiring portals for their clients.

The Challenge

We didn't think we were going to be able to offer this really important feature. AppSumo recommended we include a branded portal in our lifetime deal launch, but we were at feature/dev capacity. Saas Custom Domains made it easy to deliver this without delaying other initiatives.

Final Thoughts

I didn't think we were going to be able to offer custom domains for our big launch, but it turned out to be easy. That was the biggest selling point - being able to add something significant to our platform without the complexity.

Could you tell me about Dropboard and what your platform does?

11:24 AM

Dropboard is basically trying to be the friendliest hiring platform out there. There's so many big box HR platforms that do management and applicant tracking systems - we're trying to be the budget-friendly alternative where we cut through all the bloat and offer something super easy to use.

We serve smaller businesses doing in-house hiring, recruiters with clients, and job board entrepreneurs who want to create their own branded portals.

When did you discover you needed custom domains in your product?

11:26 AM

When we were working with AppSumo on our listing, they told us we really should have a branded version of Dropboard for clients. I had initially dismissed it because I thought we didn't have time to implement it.

That's when I found your service and realized we actually could do this. The biggest selling point was discovering we could offer this really important feature, and it turned out to be easy.

What aspects of the solution worked particularly well for you?

11:29 AM

Not having to maintain something on the tech stack was huge. I don't like to outsource tech stuff because we want to control it, but this is such an easily isolated thing that it made sense.

It's like Stripe - when there's a good partner to work with, you can delegate that responsibility and not worry about it.
